Really? Where I'm from, you'd have a hard time finding people who don't follow the Order of Lorelei, at least a little bit. And not just in Daath, but all over the world! It's about as "major" as it gets.
The Score's a record of all events in the planet's history: past, present, and future. The Order of Lorelei are the keepers of the Score, so everyone would have to come to us if they wanted to know the future.
Everyone believed the Score was absolute... that it was impossible to go against it, and wrong to even try.
But Ion believed the Score was only one possible future of many, and that it was never meant to be a shackle to bind us... and that's what I want to believe, too.
[he halfway starts to reach out, but-- remembers the rust, before he can complete the gesture. last thing he wants is to put her through anything right after that, so he just... lets his hand drop.]
... He was a really gentle person. Sometimes he seemed kind of spaced-out? But he had so many expectations placed on him as the Fon Master that I think he was kind of afraid to express himself...
But when we did get to talk, just the two of us, I could hear how much he really cared about everyone, and everything, and how frustrated he was with the Order, the way things were...
He really wanted a world where people could live more freely.

[he's not the religious discussion guy.]

I don't know if I mentioned -- I grew up in a cathedral back home. So religion's always been a pretty huge part of my life!

[a little shrug, there.]
Think they're mostly more like cults.

[it's a little hard to imagine....]
Well, what's it like? What do people follow it for?

[ and that probably needs an explanation, so. ]

[blinking at that, taking it in for a second.]
So it was all-- predetermined already, huh. Das Schicksal...

Das what?

[a little shake of his head.]
Never have, myself.
Who's Ion?
no subject
[ she gazes up at the odd-colored light filtering through the tinted windows. ]
I was his Guardian.

Did he quit, or...?

Were you working for him for a while, already?

[ which, given her age, feels like a big part of her life. ]

[not strange, by city standards, but... still. if she was raised in the religion too, doesn't sound like she probably got a lot of time to be a kid.]
...what was he like? If you wanna talk about him.
